Quality of Care
Certification
In an ongoing effort to provide the very highest level of quailty care Dr. Ritter-Lang uses facilities that have earned the Cooperation for Transparency and Quality in Health Care (KTQ®) Certification.
KTQ® has developed a process for science-based analysis and assessment of the quality of an entire hospital's delivery of care.
The KTQ® benchmark is the constant improvement of all processes regarding the care of patients - from the admission of a patient in a hospital, the development of a treatment strategy, to the continuous support of a lengthy healing process.
More and more patients will look for the certification seal of KTQ® - the mark of quality in health care. KTQ website - www.ktq.de

Ultra-Clean Laminar Flow Recirculation
The Special Clinic for Orthopedics in Bremen utilizes a state-of-the-art Ultra-Clean Laminar Flow Recirculation system to decrease intra-operative bacterial contamination and reduce infection rates. This type of system has been shown to reduce infection rates dramatically.
Cell Saver - Intraoperative Cell Salvage Technology
Special Clinic for Orthopedics also utilizes the Cell Saver (Intra-operative Cell Salvage Machine)
Commonly known as a "cell saver", the intra-operative cell salvage machine suctions, washes, and filters blood so it can be given back to the patient's body instead of being thrown away. One advantage to this is the patient receives his/her own blood instead of donor blood, so there is no risk of contracting outside diseases. Because the blood is re-circulated, there is no limit to the amount of blood that can be given back to the patient. The cell saver is also a viable alternative for patients with religious objections to receiving blood transfusions.
CE Mark
All implants offered received CE Mark (European FDA) approval for use in the European Economic Area countries. The CE marking certifies that a product has met EU consumer safety, health or environmental requirements.
